FEBRUARY 2024 Wrapped | Bogus Basin
Those who visited Bogus Basin in February can confirm: It was a month marked by good snow and good vibes. With over 74” inches of fresh snowfall, the announcement of two new chairlifts, and sunny days sponsored by Groundhog Phil himself, February was a month to remember at Bogus Basin.

COMMUNITY
This February:
- 117,900 of you visited the mountain.
- 111,901 of you rode Downhill on skis or a board.
- 35,969 of you rode under the lights, opting in for twilight and moonlit runs.
- 3,375 of you snowshoed or skied Nordic.
- 27 of you participated in Guided Snowshoe Tours.
- 2,624 of you spun your way down the Tubing Hill.
- Together, you took 61,174 runs on February 10th, marking the most laps taken in a single day throughout the month of February.
- 2,072 folks attended events hosted by community partners from The Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce, Mission 43, SheJumps, and The 366th Fighter Squadron from Mountain Home’s Air Force Base.
- Over 1,400 students from 37 Treasure Valley high schools and 42 junior high schools participated in the 64th season of the Bogus Basin School Race Program culminating in the annual Dotty Clark Memorial Race(s) which welcomed 518 high school students and 474 middle school students to the mountain February 22nd and 23rd.
- 1,103 Treasure Valley students* visited Bogus Basin to join the Environmental Education team for SnowSchool.
*337 of the students who attended SnowSchool received scholarships to attend at no cost. 70.6% of participants had never been to Bogus Basin before and 64% had never snowshoed before.
Mountain Operations
This February:
- You rode the lifts 918,118 times.
- Your favorite lift was Deer Point Express– which you rode 309, 542 times this February– followed by Morning Star Express (287,875) and Superior Express (167,243).
- Meanwhile, you enjoyed 49″ of fresh pow and 340 hours of access to fun, affordable mountain recreation at your local mountain.
- Bogus Basin announced plans to acquire 2 new chairlifts. The historic Coach and Bitterroot chairlifts will both be replaced this summer (2024) with Skytrac quad chairlifts.

About Bogus Basin
Opened in 1942, Bogus Basin winter operations offer 2,600 acres of daytime skiable terrain and 200+ acres for night skiing; eleven lifts – including four high-speed quads – and three people-mover surface lifts; an 800-foot tubing hill. The Nordic Center offers 37 kilometers of groomed trails. Environmental education and community outreach programs serve over 20,000 individuals annually, primarily youth. Bogus Basin is located 16.5 miles north of Boise, Idaho, and operates under a special use permit with the Boise National Forest.
Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area is one of the largest non-profit recreation areas in the country. It is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to engaging the community to provide accessible, affordable, and fun year-round mountain recreation and education. Bogus Basin summer activities include a challenge course, mountain coaster, summer tubing, climbing wall, bungee trampoline, gem panning station, The Basin Gravity Park, cross-country mountain biking and hiking, free community events and educational programs, chairlift service to access hiking and biking trails, and guided nature hikes.
