There is something for everyone at Bogus Basin. It’s getting out into the fresh air, escaping from the summer heat and winter inversions that settle in the Treasure Valley, and a direct line of communication with nature. From The Top, a Sector Seventeen mural at Bogus Basin features images of the unique experiences on the mountain, fit for everyone. “The motion and energy found within the composition mimics that of mountain activities. Geometric and organic elements ride their way across the wall, while the central circle holds gravity and a sense of togetherness. “From the Top” is an ode to this place that many hold dear- the ascent and journey back down providing a refreshing perspective,” said Sector Seventeen

Sector Seventeen mural at Bogus Basin was spearheaded by Board members Ross Borden and Eve Chandler, with help from a committee of Bogus Basin employees and local artists. The committee sifted through various mural proposals before selecting Sector Seventeen to paint at Bogus Basin. We want to thank Eve Chandler, Stephanie Inman, and Cate Bridgton for their dedication to this capital improvement project.

Sector Seventeen is a local artist collective based out of Boise, Idaho. Having come up through the roots of graffiti, Sector Seventeen has evolved into a multi-faceted company that provides a diverse range of creative media. Since 2005, the team at Sector Seventeen has more than made their mark here in the Treasure Valley – Some of their mural sites around Boise include the annual Treefort Music Festival in downtown Boise, The Boise Greenbelt, The Grove Plaza, Rhodes Skatepark, Freak Alley, and more!

Sector Seventeen – About the Artists

Mainly self-taught artists, ELMS ONE and Mawk One have spent the last 15 years painting murals in public spaces. They have worked within various media but primarily focus on aerosol to create large-scale pieces. Every community deserves the enrichment of their visual environment, and Sector Seventeen strives to tailor each project to reflect the unique qualities found within the surrounding area.

For the past two decades, both ELMS ONE and Mawk One have had the pleasure of recreating at Bogus Basin. From learning the basics of snowboarding as teenagers to now teaching their own children the same skills, the duo has made countless memories on the mountain. As Boise’s growth has expanded in recent years, Sector Seventeen has evolved with the city in tandem. From working with city entities, small business owners, large corporations, and Non-Profits, they have amassed a wealth of experience in various projects. This experience has allowed them to hone their skills and fine-tune the processes necessary to execute these large-scale endeavors.
