Unfortunately, Due to unfavorable weather conditions THIS SEASON’S New Year’s Skate IS canceled.

Each year, Bogus Basin and the Bogus Basin Nordic Team (BBNT) co-host The New Year’s Skate, an annual Nordic ski race that’s part of the mountain’s Community Race Series. Community members of all ages are invited to join for their choice of a 10k or a 5k race, or a 1k/3k option for younger participants. This year, due to unseasonably warm conditions, Bogus Basin and BBNT have made the difficult decision to cancel the New Year’s Skate event.

“Between the racers, the volunteers, the BBNT coaches, and the Nordic center staff, there’s a lot of really good energy during the New Year’s Skate.”

-Lettie Stratton, Bogus Basin Nordic + Race Supervisor

Last year’s New Year’s Skate event welcomed 69 racers, and while this year’s New Year’s Skate event will not take place as planned, Stratton says all interested participants should stay tuned for the next Bogus Challenge Race, scheduled for January 16th at 5:30pm MST. For updates and information, please visit the Bogus Basin Nordic Team Community Race Series calendar.
