On this approximately 2-mile walk, we’ll find a mosaic of colors as well as nature’s bounty of berries, seeds, and rose hips! Many years ago, all people were naturalists by necessity. Their survival depended on an intimate and comprehensive knowledge of the plants and animals around them. Edibility, abundance, medicinal uses, and seasonal availability were critical pieces of information. Participants of the Guided Nature Program will have the opportunity to learn about wild edible plants in the Bogus Basin area and many topics about what it takes to survive in the wilderness.
