Idaho Gives | Give to Non-Profit Mountain Recreation

Give where you play This Idaho Gives

Idaho Gives is a statewide fundraising event that brings communities together to support nonprofit organizations across Idaho. As one of the participating nonprofits in Idaho Gives 2026, Bogus Basin continues to serve as a vital resource for Idahoans — made possible in part by the ongoing generosity of the Treasure Valley. This Idaho Gives, we invite you to Give Where You Play by making a donation to Bogus Basin.

Bogus Basin is a proudly independent non-profit recreation area that provides year-round mountain access to the community. Your donation helps sustain operations, fund improvements, invest in new technologies, and support community programs that connect people to the mountain — today and in the future.

“Bogus is a reason I moved here 36 years ago. It is a reason I have stayed. I have had friends and family all benefit from the Bogus Basin organization and have shared skiing, boarding, and biking with new riders that are now hooked for life in some of the best experiences Idaho has to offer.”

Give Where You play

From mountain biking and hiking in the summer to cruising groomers and chasing powder in the winter, Bogus Basin is where the Treasure Valley comes to make memories year-round. Your support helps keep the mountain accessible to our community, guided by a spirit of innovation and thoughtful stewardship.

Bringing New Technology to the Mountain

The Bogus Basin team remains committed to investing in technology and infrastructure that improve the mountain experience and support long-term sustainability. This past year, that commitment came to life through a Snow Secure pilot program and the addition of an exciting new brush-cutting machine set to debut this summer.

Snow Secure

When we stored snow using Snow Secure in the spring of 2025, we didn’t yet know it would become the foundation for opening day that November—supplemented by a small amount of machine-made snow.

Despite a historically low snowpack and record-warm early-season temperatures, Snow Secure made a Thanksgiving opening possible for the 2025/26 season.

By season’s end, it was clear: Snow Secure is a viable technology that can help us more reliably open early in the season — with or without Mother Nature’s cooperation.

Bogus Basin has since gained national recognition for its work with Snow Secure, helping introduce this innovative approach to the United States. With a less-than-optimal snowpack at the close of the 2025/26 season, the team was even able to support other resorts across the country by sharing knowledge — and selling surplus panels to help launch their own pilot programs.

The Green Climber

This summer, we’re excited to add the Green Climber to our fleet, enhancing our ability to manage vegetation across the mountain. This remote-controlled machine can tackle slopes as steep as 60°, making brush cutting safer, more efficient, and more effective in hard-to-reach areas.

Investments like this are made possible through community support and are just one of the many ways donations help improve the on-mountain experience — whether you’re out on the trails in the summer or looking ahead to ski and ride season next winter.

so others can play, too

When you support Bogus Basin through a donation, you’re helping fund more than on-mountain improvements. You’re connecting people to nature, inspiring the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts, and creating space for our community to reconnect with the natural world.

SnowSchool

The Bogus Basin Environmental Education team creates meaningful opportunities for local students to explore their backyard mountain ecosystem. Each winter, SnowSchool brings more than 3,000 students to the mountain for a full day of hands-on learning, covering topics like snow science, ecology, and wilderness survival. The program is offered at just $7 per student, with scholarships available to ensure access for Title I schools.

Guided Nature Programs

Have you explored a free Guided Nature Program on the mountain? These immersive experiences—led by local experts, from naturalists to botanists to ornithologists—offer a unique way to connect with the mountain environment. Programs are open to all ages (children must be accompanied by an adult) and are designed to be accessible, engaging, and inspiring.

Thank You!
