Idaho is steeped in winter sports history. Bogus Basin opened in 1942 to bring mountain recreation to Boiseans and beyond, less than a decade after the world’s first chairlift was installed in Idaho circa 1936. Today, Bogus Basin is the heartbeat of the Treasure Valley’s ski and snowboard community — an independent, nonprofit mountain where every dollar spent stays local and is reinvested directly back into the operation to ensure an even better experience for generations to come.

Recently named the #1 Ski Area in the U.S. by Newsweek readers, Bogus Basin is where locals come to carve turns, connect with friends, and celebrate Idaho’s roots and culture. A season pass isn’t just a ticket to the mountain — it’s a symbol of belonging.
