Grand Opening of the Brand-New Coach Chairlift
We welcomed the community to the mountain for the first day of the 2024/25 winter season with the opening of the brand-new Coach quad Chairlift, installed summer 2024. The Terrain Park team, put together an awesome opening day set up, with 16 features that everyone could enjoy. All 3 conveyor lifts (Easy Rider, Discovery, and Explorer) were rolling for opening day, and a day ticket only cost $15 for open-to-close (9 am – 4:30 pm) riding.
Thank You, Snow Sorcerers!
The snow sorcerers worked around the clock to make a November opening a reality! The crew transformed parts of the mountain into a winter paradise, using 3.16 million gallons of water to open The Explorer Terrain Park, beginner conveyor lifts, and the new Coach’s Corner run.
With favorable temperatures and a bit of natural snow, your team of sorcerers used an additional 7.3 million gallons of water to open up the Deer Point Express, Morning Star Express, and Showcase chairlifts – quadrupling the terrain offered early season.
Opening that much terrain on majority machine made snow is no small feat. To put their effort into perspective, the 10+ million gallons of water used to open the mountain translates to a 40-foot snowpack in the area of one football field.

Midweek Operations Begin
The mountain faced a short dry spell between November 28th and December 10th, and anticipation grew as a promising storm approached. With a solid machine-made snow base already in place, we kicked off midweek operations on Friday, December 13th, welcoming Midweek season pass holders to the mountain for their first turns of the 2024/25 winter season. The storm didn’t disappoint, delivering an impressive 33 inches of fresh snow between December 13th and December 17th, setting the stage for an incredible start to the season.
After waking up to 7″ on Sunday, December 15th, your mountain team came together to prepare the mountain for a surprise Pine Creek opening! Surprise openings are no easy feat – thank you to all patrollers, lift operators, and mountain ops team that made it a day to remember on the backside.
Bitterroot Grand Opening + ENtire mountain Opens
After the huge mid-December storm, we were stoked to announce that the entire mountain would open for daily operations on Tuesday, December 17th. The day also marked the grand opening of the Bitterroot Quad Chairlift, which now offers increased daily access to low-intermediate terrain during the regular season.
The holiday season brought big snow, with a whopping 50 inches of snowfall between December 23rd and January 5th. This storm cycle and incredible conditions kicked off 2025 in spectacular fashion. The fresh New Year’s snow was especially significant given that the natural snow base was 18 inches on January 1st, 2024.
Night Operations Begin
Night operations on the Easy Rider Conveyor, Discovery Conveyor, Explorer Terrain Park, Deer Point, Coach, Morning Star, and Superior Chairlift kicked off on Friday, December 20th. Since then, mountain guests have enjoyed riding on 26 illuminated runs.
Lifts spin until 10 pm nightly through late March. Have you taken a lap under the stars?
