What a summer! Whether you ripped in The Basin Gravity Park, took a few laps on The Glade Runner Mountain Coaster, or enjoyed a relaxing chairlift ride, we’re stoked that you chose to spend your summer days at Bogus Basin. Read on for a full overview of the season at the Treasure Valley’s Local Playground!

All summer activities, events, and mountain biking in The Basin Gravity Park opened for the season on June 19^th, 2026, and concluded on Labor Day, September 7^th, 2026. Beyond summer operations, significant progress continued on several mountain-wide capital improvement projects, including construction of The Outpost (a new food, beverage, and events venue). Crews also completed extensive brush clearing across the mountain and supported forest thinning efforts on two Pine Creek (Chair 6) runs, helping prepare them for grooming and expanded winter operations in the seasons ahead.

Community Events

At Bogus Basin, the Treasure Valley’s non-profit mountain, we pride ourselves on making outdoor recreation accessible all year-round. This summer, we hosted a wide variety of inclusive community events and programs – from free yoga and music to the Boise Mountain Bike Festival.  Whether seeking adventure, community, or simply a place to connect with nature, this summer there was something for everyone to enjoy at Bogus Basin.

Boise Mountain Bike Festival

The Boise Mountain Bike Festival kicked off the summer mountain bike season on Saturday, June 27^th, 2026, with a rainy weekend full of mountain biking, festivities, vendor booths, and expert panels!

Yoga on the Mountain

For the 5^th summer in a row, our partners at Yoga for Life held yoga classes on the Base Area Lawn on Saturdays and Sundays at 10 am, and Friday evenings at 6:30 pm. Plus, special free sound-bathing yoga classes happened every first and third Sunday of the month! In total, our community enjoyed nature from the yoga mat 34 times this summer, 100% free of charge!

Youth-Nature Drop Off Programs

While you found your Zen on the Base Area Lawn, Bogus Basin’s Youth Nature Guides led young adventurers on fun-filled mountain explorations. Activities included nature bingo, nature art, and hands-on outdoor discovery. In total, 39 children ages 5 to 10 participated in the Youth Nature Drop-Off Program throughout the summer.

Music on the Mountain

Five Music on the Mountain events brought the community together for live music and summer fun at Bogus Basin. Shows ran from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., creating the perfect way to spend a summer afternoon. See the full lineup below!

Free Music On The MOuntain | Summer 2026

For the second summer in a row, Bogus Basin partnered with local booking agency Duck Club to curate an outstanding lineup of touring and local musicians. Throughout the season, guests enjoyed live performances from a diverse mix of artists against the backdrop of beautiful mountain views.

Environmental Education and Stewardship

Free Guided Nature Programs

Free Guided Nature Programs offered guests the opportunity to explore the mountain alongside local experts, including ornithologist Terry Rich and U.S. Forest Service botanist Crista O’Conner. This summer, the Bogus Basin Environmental Education team hosted six programs covering topics ranging from birding to wildflower identification. In total, 58 guests participated in these free nature experiences.

Youth Nature Drop OffParticipants

Representatives from our Environmental Education team lead Scenic Tours from the Base Area on Saturdays and Sundays at 1 pm. Guides led a total of 57 guests on scenic tours this summer.

Youth Summer Camps

In partnership with the City of Boise, the Bogus Basin Environmental Education team hosts a series of summer camps on the mountain for kids and teens. The team added two more weeks of teen camp this year, which made it possible for more local teens to connect with the mountain ecosystem. Plus, some campers had the opportunity to choose their adventure on the Mineshaft Challenge Course and zoom down the Glade Runner Mountain Coaster! In total, 285 campers enjoyed a part of their summer at Bogus Basin.

Hummingbird Banding

The International Bird Observatory (IBO) hit the mountain for another summer of hummingbird research at Bogus Basin. The IBO captures and bands hummingbirds to monitor their health and migration patterns. This summer, IBO staff and volunteers captured 149 hummingbirds; 16 being recaptures from last summer, and 4 captures from 2024!

National Public Lands Day

This year marked the Bogus Basin Stewardship Team’s third annual National Public Lands Day celebration. While National Public Lands Day is traditionally observed on the last Saturday in September, Bogus Basin hosted an early celebration on August 29^th, 2026, to engage guests while summer operations were still underway. The event featured booths from 15 local and national partners, including the U.S. Forest Service, Sierra Club, Idaho Fish & Game, and more. Guests enjoyed a variety of hands-on activities throughout the day, including volunteer seed collecting, tree cookie crafts, and raffles.

The Basin Gravity Park

It was a fun season in The Basin Gravity Park, the Treasure Valley’s closest lift-served bike park! The park unveiled new features and trail enhancements on Air Traffic Control, Student Rider, New to This, 27MX, G-19, Rip N’ Dipp, and Berm Baby Berm. We are appreciative of the long hours put into these improvements all summer long – thanks trail crew!

Community Race Series

We had a great time on the race courses with y’all this summer! The five-week series brought fun, friendly competition to Bogus Basin with cross-country mountain bike races on Wednesday evenings, and downhill races on Thursdays in The Basin Gravity Park!

Capital Improvement Projects

Amid all the summer fun, your mountain team remained focused on the winter season ahead. The Mountain Operations team added a new remote-controlled brush cutter, the Green Climber, to its fleet, enhancing brush-clearing efforts on popular skiing and snowboarding runs. Additionally, crews completed work on two new steep, groomable runs in the Pine Creek zone. These advanced-to-expert runs will provide more groomed terrain options while preserving Pine Creek’s renowned off-piste skiing and riding experience. About Bogus Basin Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area is a 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to engaging the community to provide accessible, affordable, and fun year-round mountain recreation and education. Opened in 1942, Bogus Basin offers 2,600 acres of daytime skiable terrain and 200 acres for night skiing, seven chairlifts and three conveyor lifts, and an 800-foot tubing hill. The Nordic Center offers 37 kilometers of groomed trails for skiing and snowshoeing. Environmental education and community outreach programs, primarily youth, serve over 20,000 individuals annually. Summer activities include The Glade Runner Mountain Coaster, The Mine Shaft Challenge Course, mountain biking, events, hiking and chairlift service for hike and bike transport.
