More Than 1,500 Airmen to Hit The Slopes At Bogus Basin on Friday

January 31, 2019 (BOISE, ID)– Friday, February 1st, is Wing Day at Bogus Basin. Over 1,500 Airmen from Mountain Home Air Force Base will visit the nonprofit recreation area. For over a decade, Bogus basin has invited members of the 366th Fighter Wing to the mountain to ski, snowboard, and winter tube. The Glade Runner Mountain Coaster will be open to the public from 11:00am to 5:00pm.

“This is our opportunity to show appreciation to the Airmen and their families for their commitment and service to our country,” said General Manager, Brad Wilson. Wing Day gives the Airmen a chance to strengthen resiliency and relationships by spending time at the nonprofit recreation area. The wing population consists of more than 3,900 military and civilian Gunfighters as well as 4,500 family members.


About Bogus Basin Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area is a 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to engaging the community to provide accessible, affordable, and fun year-round mountain recreation and education. Opened in 1942, Bogus Basin offers 2,600 acres of daytime skiable terrain, and 165 acres for night skiing; eleven lifts and three people-mover carpets; an 800-foot tubing hill. The Nordic Center offers 37 kilometers of groomed trails. Environmental education and community outreach programs serve over 20,000 individuals annually, primarily youth. Summer activities include the Glade Runner, a 4,251 foot mountain coaster, The Mine Shaft Challenge course, mountain biking, events, hiking and chairlift service for hike and bike transport.
