Bogus Basin Transitions to Late Summer Hours, Announces Upcoming Events
Bogus Basin has announced its transition to late summer operating hours. Beginning Saturday, September 7th, the area will be open from 11 am to 5 pm on Saturdays and Sundays through September 29th.
Several events are planned at the nonprofit before the season ends, including a special finale for the free Music on the Mountain concert series. Saturday, September 7th. Opera Idaho will perform from 4 pm to 5 pm on the Simplot Base Area Stage.
“On Saturday we will have 5 Opera singers, Jason Detwiler, baritone; Michele Detwiler, mezzo-soprano; Andrew Peck, tenor; BrieAnne Welch, soprano; and Rebecca Pearce, soprano – perform a variety of popular opera arias, art songs, and musical theatre classics.”

They will be accompanied by a professional string quartet (Kathy Stutzman, Heather Calkins, Dave Johnson and Stephen Mathie) and pianist, Betsi Hodges, on keyboard.
A narrator will deliver a brief description between each set. A printed program will include concert details and an exclusive discount code for Music on the Mountain attendees for upcoming Opera Idaho productions.
The day will also feature a performance by the Frim Fram Four, a Boise-based group known for their classic Jazz Age arrangements and songs, playing from 2 pm to 3:15 pm.
During the concerts, representatives from the Idaho Wine Commission will offer tastings from local wineries.
In addition to these highlights and its regular operations, Bogus Basin has a full schedule of weekend events throughout September, including guided nature programs, free yoga sessions, a mountain biking skills clinic in partnership with SheJumps, and free Music on the Patio performances.
On Saturday, September 28th, from 12 pm to 3 pm, the public is invited to Bogus Basin to celebrate National Public Lands Day. The event will feature informative booths from local land management agencies and conservation groups, raffle prizes, free guided nature hikes, and engaging nature-based crafts and activities.

The area’s family-friendly attractions and amenities, including The Glade Runner, Idaho’s only mountain coaster, and The Mineshaft Challenge Course, The Basin Gravity Park for downhill mountain biking, and full food & beverage service, will remain available weekends through September 29th.

About Bogus Basin Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area is a 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to engaging the community to provide accessible, affordable, and fun year-round mountain recreation and education. Opened in 1942, Bogus Basin offers 2,600 acres of daytime skiable terrain, and 200 acres for night skiing; eleven lifts and three people-mover carpets; an 800-foot tubing hill. The Nordic Center offers 37 kilometers of groomed trails. Environmental education and community outreach programs serve over 20,000 individuals annually, primarily youth. Summer activities include the Glade Runner, a 4,251 foot mountain coaster, The Mine Shaft Challenge course, mountain biking, events, hiking and chairlift service for hike and bike transport.
