Thanks For A great Season!
From shattering snowmaking records to hitting a 100″ base depth and stretching the season all the way into May, Winter 2024/25 was nothing short of legendary. Let’s take a look back at the incredible season that was Winter 2024/25.
A Strong Start
We kicked off the season in style with the debut of the brand-new Skytrac Coach quad chairlift, installed in Summer 2024, and two exciting new runs: Coach’s Corner, now 3.5 times longer than before, and Ida-Belle, a brand-new blue run. The Discovery, Easy Rider, and Explorer conveyor lifts opened on November 23rd and 24th — thanks largely to early-season snowmaking efforts.
The Explorer Terrain Park opened with 16 features.
Front Side Open For Thanksgiving Weekend
Following a 10+ million gallon snowmaking run, your mountain operations team was able to open for Thanksgiving Day and the holiday weekend, November 28th – December 1st. The Deer Point Express, Morning Star Express, Coach Chairlift, Showcase Chairlift, Explorer Conveyor Lift, Easy Rider Conveyor Lift, and Discovery Conveyor Lift uplifted the excited community from 9 am to 4:30 pm.
Open Terrain On Thanksgiving Weekend:
- 7 Lifts Spinning
- 17 Trails Open
- 8 Trails Groomed
- 16 Terrain Park Features
Mother Nature Delivers Big Snow
Daily operations began on Friday, December 13th, with a big snowstorm in the forecast. Mother Nature delivered! Two weeks after opening, the snow globe kicked into high gear. Over 15″ of snow fell between Saturday, December 14th, and Sunday, December 15th.
Surprise Pine Creek Express Opening
With 19″ of new snow, your team made the exciting decision to open the Pine Creek Express Chairlift late that Sunday morning.
This mid-December storm dropped a whopping 32″, landing us a spot on SnowBrains Deepest Snow In America list, along with Jackson Hole, Grand Targhee, and Mt. Hood. Later, on December 28th, we made the list again following a 26″ snowstorm, and 10″ in just 24 hours. Powder to the people!
Bitterroot Debut
The entire mountain officially opened for the season on Tuesday, December 17th, 2024, marking a milestone with the debut of the brand-new Skytrac Bitterroot Quad Chairlift.
New for the 2024/25 season, the Bitterroot Chairlift operated daily for the first time, providing consistent access to Bitterroot Basin. This area offers an ideal environment for low-intermediate riders and families, with comfortable, approachable terrain perfect for building confidence and exploring more of the mountain.
92 Nights Under the Lights
Night operations kicked off on our 82nd birthday – December 20th, 2024, and wrapped up 92 nights later on Saturday, March 22, 2025. It was a fun and lively season under the lights, with Twilight pass holders taking 223,869 lift rides and Night pass holders enjoying 69,851 rides!

Impactful Milestones
The School Race Program Celebrated Its 65th Year
The annual School Race Program celebrated its 65th season, ending with the Dotty Clark Championship Race on Thursday, February 21st, and Friday, February 22nd. Over 1,100 Junior High and High School students participated in alpine skiing, freestyle, snowboarding, and Nordic skiing competitions.

100″ Base Depth
Our snow base depth reached 100″ on March 20th, 2025, for only the fifth time in recorded history.

We celebrated the milestone later in the Spring with a free 100″ Season Send-Off party, marking the end of daily operations on Sunday, April 13th. The community party included an outdoor bar, live DJ, and good vibes in the sunshine all day.
We had so much fun celebrating with the community, we may just have to do it again….. (keep reading).
Exciting Events
Ringing In the New Year with snow and Fireworks
We kicked off 2025 with our annual New Year’s Day Torchlight Parade and Fireworks Show. Heavy snowfall made for a beautiful evening on the mountain.
A special thank you to Albertsons for providing cookies and hot chocolate to the Treasure Valley Community!
Bonus Weekend and Pond skim 2025
We welcomed the community back to the mountain for a special Bonus Weekend and Pond Skim on April 19th and 20th. This year brought the largest Pond Skim crowd, with over 200 skimmers and hundreds of spectators. High Pine Whiskey Yell, a local bluegrass band, closed the weekend with everyone dancing on the ICCU Base Area Plaza.
All 2024/25 Winter Season Pass Holders were welcome to ride all weekend, including Midweek, Night, and Nordic Season Pass Holders.
Of course, Nate Shake’s first time pond skimming had to be in jeans. ;)
The Season Isn’t Over Yet…
We’ve been hearing from you, the community, and figured it’s in our blood to listen closely. In celebration of only the fifth time ever reaching a 100″ recorded base depth, we’re opening for one more bonus day on May 3rd, 2025!
We want to be the last ski area in Idaho to be open! Why? Because we can, and it’s who we are! A mountain for the people, not for profit – That’s the magic of your community mountain.
