Bogus Basin Announces Daily Summer Operations

Boise, Idaho – Bogus Basin will kick off daily summer operations this Saturday, June 21, offering a full lineup of outdoor recreation, community events, and summer activities for the whole family. Guests can enjoy lift-served mountain biking, the Glade Runner mountain coaster, scenic chairlift rides, the Mineshaft Challenge Course, and more. The Simplot Lodge and Double R Ranch BBQ will be open, offering a full range of food and beverage options throughout the day.

Seven-day-a-week operations will continue through August 22, with weekend-only activities running through September. Operating hours are 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily, with extended bike park hours until 8:00 p.m. on Thursdays through August 21.

The non-profit mountain recreation area is offering a robust calendar of free summer events for the community, including:

  • Guided nature hikes on weekends
  • Music on the Mountain concerts (five dates throughout the summer)
  • Music on the Patio (most Saturdays and Sundays)
  • Yoga on the Mountain (Saturdays, Sundays and Thursdays)

A highlight of the season is the Boise Mountain Bike Festival, returning Saturday, June 28. The popular event features group rides, demos from local bike shops, skill clinics, coaching sessions, a whip-off challenge, and the high-flying Whip-Off Jam Big Air event featuring professional riders. Also featured this summer is the return of the Community Race Series Mountain Bike Races, offering competitive fun for riders of all levels. Cross-country (XC) Mountain Bike Races take place Wednesdays, and Downhill Mountain Bike Races are held Thursdays, beginning June 25th. Registration opens at 5:00 p.m. each race day, with an optional pre-ride of the course. Races begin at 6:00 p.m. for all classes.

Summer Operations

Bogus Basin’s extensive mountain biking terrain—including the Basin Gravity Park and a cross-country trail system, attracts outdoor enthusiasts from across the region. In addition to its biking terrain, Bogus Basin offers access to a network of high-altitude hiking trails, providing scenic views, wildflowers, and a mountain escape less than an hour from downtown Boise. About Bogus Basin Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area is a 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to engaging the community to provide accessible, affordable, and fun year-round mountain recreation and education. Opened in 1942, Bogus Basin offers 2,600 acres of daytime skiable terrain and 200 acres for night skiing, seven chairlifts and three people-mover carpets, and an 800-foot tubing hill. The Nordic Center offers 37 kilometers of groomed trails for skiing and snowshoeing. Environmental education and community outreach programs, primarily youth, serve over 20,000 individuals annually. Summer activities include The Glade Runner Mountain Coaster, The Mine Shaft Challenge Course, mountain biking, events, hiking and chairlift service for hike and bike transport.
