Bogus Basin to Open Summer Operations this Friday, June 19th
Boise, Idaho – Bogus Basin will kick off summer operations on Friday, June 19th, offering a wide variety of family-friendly outdoor recreation opportunities throughout the summer season.
The non-profit mountain recreation area features Idaho’s only mountain coaster, a challenge course with two zip lines, rock climbing, summer tubing, scenic chairlift rides, mountain biking, and weekly community events. Guests can enjoy summer activities on the mountain Wednesday through Sunday from 11 am to 7 pm through Labor Day weekend. Area services and facilities are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Guests can refuel with food and drinks at the Bogus Creek Grill and Double R Ranch, both serving up summer favorites during operating hours.
Activities
Bogus Basin’s extensive mountain biking terrain, including The Basin Gravity Park (a lift-served mountain biking area) and an expansive cross-country trail system, attracts outdoor enthusiasts from across the region. This summer, guests can expect revamped trails in The Basin Gravity Park designed to improve flow, as well as a new hiking and cross-country access route connecting the top of the Morning Star Express Chairlift to the Pioneer Lodge.

Bogus Basin offers access to a network of alpine hiking trails, providing scenic views, wildflowers, and a mountain escape less than an hour from downtown Boise.
Events
The non-profit mountain recreation area is offering free events for the community throughout the summer season, including:
- Guided nature hikes on weekends
- Five Music on the Mountain summer concerts
- Music on the Patio on Saturdays and Sundays
- Yoga on the Mountain on Friday evenings, and Saturday and Sunday mornings

Boise Mountain Bike Festival
The Boise Mountain Bike Festival returns on Saturday, June 27th. Since 2019, the festival has brought together riders of all ages and abilities, celebrating the region’s vibrant mountain biking community.
The event features group rides, demos from local bike shops, skill clinics, coaching sessions, a whip-off challenge, and the crowd-favorite Whip-Off Jam Big Air event showcasing professional riders. For tickets and more information, visit boisemtnbikefestival.com.

About Bogus Basin Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area is a 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to engaging the community to provide accessible, affordable, and fun year-round mountain recreation and education. Opened in 1942, Bogus Basin offers 2,600 acres of daytime skiable terrain and 200 acres for night skiing, seven chairlifts and three conveyor lifts, and an 800-foot tubing hill. The Nordic Center offers 37 kilometers of groomed trails for skiing and snowshoeing. Environmental education and community outreach programs, primarily youth, serve over 20,000 individuals annually. Summer activities include The Glade Runner Mountain Coaster, The Mine Shaft Challenge Course, mountain biking, events, hiking and chairlift service for hike and bike transport.
