Return of The Powder

After 21 days of a crispy groomer-ripping dry period, we are STOKED about the return of powder. The last storm system arrived on January 31st and delivered 38” of fresh snow in just 6 days, February 2025 is off to a fluffy start with our 82” base!

More winter weather is coming – get hyped, Powder Hounds!

“Southern Idaho resorts will do very well with 8-12 inches of snowfall from Thursday evening through Friday. Bogus will do a bit better than the OpenSnow forecast shows. Winds will initially come from the southwest, which is very good for the Boise Ridge.

This coming weekend will be beautiful and cold, with sunny skies in southern Idaho. Dry and cold weather should continue through next Tuesday (2/11) before the next storm cycle moves in on Wednesday (2/12).

It’s all good news in the extended range. The Euro Ensemble has a trough anchoring itself over the PNW and a steady train of storms moving into Idaho. So far models are indicating that this series of storms will be seasonably cold”

Keep Up The Great Work Sharing The Stoke!

Last season, we had a record-breaking visitation day on January 7th, 2024, uplifting 9,400 guests. We broke records again last month, welcoming over 10,550 visitors to the mountain on January 11th, 2025!

You, the beloved headliners of the show, helped us achieve this record-breaking milestone by arriving at the mountain in the same vehicle as your ski and snowboard buddies. On January 11th, guests arrived at the mountain with an average of 2.07 people per car!

Even with a record-breaking number of guests on the mountain, lift lines did not exceed 10 minutes anywhere, thanks in part to the brand new Coach and Bitterroot quad chairlifts, encouraging guests to explore new areas of the mountain with their friends and families.

Thank you for choosing to carpool on a record-setting day. 💙

Getting to your Local Mountain

Sharing the snow is a community affair. Your mountain team is continuously working to mitigate parking pain and improve the overall on-mountain experience, including improving parking lot flows and limiting day ticket sales on peak weekends.

With Fluffy February in full swing, we all want a slice of the stoke. Our car counting stats show that parking may be especially difficult to find for vehicles that pass the stop signs at the bottom of the hill after 9 am. Generally, we advise guests to pass through the stop signs at the bottom of the hill by 7:30 am for a guaranteed parking space on weekends and holidays.

Public Bus Transportation

We’ve hired a bus service on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. A round-trip bus tickets costs $10 (cash only) and has pick-up and drop-off locations in Nampa, Meridian, Eagle, and Boise. Anyone who rides the bus is guaranteed a day ticket upon arriving at the mountain.

Powder Days Are For Friends, not Parkouts

“No friends on a powder day” is so out. Powder flu is meant to spread.

Parking on peak weekends can be challenging for some, especially when we don’t carpool. With the return of snowy weather last Sunday, we reached our parking capacity from about 10:30 am to 2 pm because many riders arrived at the mountain alone in their vehicles. We parked the same number of cars as we did on January 11th, with 2,000 fewer guests visiting the mountain – an average of 1.95 passengers per vehicle. After limiting day ticket sales, over 81% of mountain guests were season pass holders on Sunday.

We know you’re excited to ride on powder days – bring your friends along! Carpooling helps ensure everyone enjoys the fun at Bogus Basin. Plus, vehicles with three or more passengers get priority parking in lot #1!

With your help, we can keep breaking records together. 🤝

Carpool passengers may park their vehicles for free at the Park and Ride lot located at Mountain Cove Park and Ride. Please be warned that parking at Bogus Basin’s downtown offices is prohibited, and vehicles may be ticketed or towed.
