Bogus Basin Announces Launch of 7-Day Operations for The 2024/25 Winter Season

Boise, Idaho – Bogus Basin has announced the start of seven-day operations for the 2024-25 winter season. Starting Friday, December 13th, the non-profit will be open daily. This is the area’s 83rd season of providing accessible recreation and educational activities to the Treasure Valley community.

Operating hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekends and holidays. Current lifts in operation include: Coach, Deer Point Express, Morning Star Express, Showcase (Saturdays and Sundays only), Explorer Conveyor, Discovery Conveyor, and Easy Rider Conveyor.

The Tubing Hill operates on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays; reservations are available online. With highly favorable forecasts predicting up to 19″ of snowfall in the next seven days, area officials are excited to open more terrain as soon as conditions permit.

“With 19″ of snow in the extended forecasts, we expect this momentum to carry us through the holidays. We’re excited to welcome our midweek guests to experience our two brand-new chairlifts and make unforgettable winter memories at Bogus Basin.”

Brad Wilson, General Manager, Bogus Basin

The Frontier Point Trail System, conditions allowing, will also be open daily for Nordic skiing and snowshoeing. Free guided snowshoe tours will be offered every Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and Sundays at 1:00 p.m. through March 30th. These 1.5-hour tours, starting at the Frontier Point Lodge, are perfect for anyone interested in learning more about the area and enhancing their relationship with the outdoors.

“Our team is ready to operate more lifts as soon as conditions allow, and this storm should provide a sustainable and groomable base layer.”

Nate Shake, Director of Mountain Operations, Bogus Basin

Adding to the excitement, Santa will make a special visit to Bogus Basin this Sunday, December 15th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., handing out candy canes on the slopes and in the J. R. Simplot Base Area.

Holiday hours will begin Monday, December 23rd, 2024, and continue through Friday, January 3rd, 2025. During this period, the operating hours at the area will be 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Area officials anticipate opening for night operations in mid to late December, extending daily hours to 10:00 p.m.
