New Top to Bottom Runs Coming to Bogus Basin

New Top to Bottom Runs at Bogus Basin Coming 2026

If you’ve spent time at Bogus Basin, you’ve probably noticed that our team is always working to improve the mountain for the community that enjoys it year-round. This summer is no exception.

We’re excited to share that the U.S. Forest Service has approved plans to remove vegetation on the Lucky Friday run and in the area between Wildcat and Mary’s Ridge. Work will take place this summer, with both areas scheduled to open as groomed runs for the 2026/27 winter season.

“These trails were identified in the original 2016 Master Plan as the best areas to develop in the Pine Creek Area. Along with the developed trails in Pine Creek, we are clearing the lift line for a future lift that will load at the base of Showcase, unloading to the skiers left of Tiger.”

Brad Wilson, General Manager

Lucky Friday is accessible from Middle Paradise and descends to the bottom of Pine Creek. The other new run, which is still awaiting a name, begins just beyond the Wildcat entrance and is accessed from Cabin Traverse.

Both runs will be designated as black diamond (difficult) terrain and are recommended for advanced skiers and snowboarders only.

“This project adds more variety to the Pine Creek zone, which has long been known for its off-piste terrain and limited groomed runs. We’re opening up areas that have been difficult to access and creating more opportunities for guests to enjoy the zone’s 1,800 vertical feet.”

Nate Shake, Director of Mountain Operations

The vegetation management work in both areas was identified in Bogus Basin’s 2016 Master Plan. With final approval from the U.S. Forest Service now in place, the mountain operations team is ready to move forward.

Bogus Basin has contracted SlopeworX, based in Midway, Utah, to execute the project beginning in mid-July. During the project, the crew will also clear brush and trees on the south side of Shafer Butte, clearing the line for a future fixed-grip quad chairlift. (see map)

We’re excited to see this project take shape and look forward to welcoming guests to these new runs in the 2026/27 winter season.

Ongoing improvements like these are made possible through the support of our season pass holders, guests, donors, and community partners.
