July 29, 2015 (BOISE, ID)– This Saturday, August 1st, Bogus Basin is offering a fun escape from the high temperatures to our Jaialdi visitors, Treasure Valley families and outdoor enthusiasts with events and activities planned throughout the day at the local nonprofit mountain recreation area.
The Deerpoint Chair (#1) will operate for scenic rides and mountain bike transport from 11;00am-4:30pm, providing access to mountain views and the Shaffer Butte Trails system. Cost for an all-day pass is $25, which includes the bike shuttle. Single ride chairlift tickets cost $10. Tickets will be available for purchase inside the JR Simplot Lodge. All ages are welcome.
Free live music will be featured at the St. Luke’s Don Scott Memorial Amphitheater from 1:00-7:00pm, featuring local bands Deviant Kin and Jonathan Warren & The Billy Goats. The JR Simplot Lodge will be open for full food & beverage service. The weekend bike shuttle will run from Simplot Lodge to Pioneer Lodge from 11am-5pm.
Saturday marks the second of three all-day “Music on the Mountain” events planned at Bogus Basin this summer. “Our community is discovering all the great hiking, biking, disc golf and other activities available at Bogus in the summer,” said Interim General Manager, Nate Shake. “It’s been great to see everyone coming up to escape the heat and enjoy time with friends and family.”

Bogus Basin is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging the community to provide accessible, affordable, and fun year-round mountain recreation and education. Opened in 1942, Bogus Basin offers 2,600 acres of daytime skiable terrain, and 165 acres for night skiing; seven lifts and two people-moving carpets; and an 800-foot tubing hill. The Nordic Center offers 37 kilometers of groomed trails. Summer activities include mountain biking, amphitheater events, disc golf, private events, and hiking.
