Lucky Friday Gets an Upgrade | New Top to Bottom Run at Bogus Basin
Feeling lucky? We’ve got some exciting news for you! Vegetation removal on the Lucky Friday run has officially begun after the US Forest Service approved the project earlier this year.
The Bogus Basin team set a goal to transform Lucky Friday into a seamless, top-to-bottom groomed run from Middle Paradise to the bottom of Pine Creek in the non-profit mountain’s 2016 Master Plan. Ten years later, with final U.S. Forest Service approval officially secured, Mountain Operations and contractor SlopeworX are on the ground cutting trees and brush to make it happen. Lucky Friday is an advanced black diamond trail (difficult) with a sustained pitch, clocking in at over a half a mile long, and is recommended for advanced skiers and snowboarders only.
SlopeworX mulches cleared vegetation on-site to minimize long-term erosion and support a healthy forest ecosystem.

About Bogus Basin Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area is a 501(C)(3) organization dedicated to engaging the community to provide accessible, affordable, and fun year-round mountain recreation and education. Opened in 1942, Bogus Basin offers 2,600 acres of daytime skiable terrain and 200 acres for night skiing, seven chairlifts and three conveyor lifts, and an 800-foot tubing hill. The Nordic Center offers 37 kilometers of groomed trails for skiing and snowshoeing. Environmental education and community outreach programs, primarily youth, serve over 20,000 individuals annually. Summer activities include The Glade Runner Mountain Coaster, The Mine Shaft Challenge Course, mountain biking, events, hiking and chairlift service for hike and bike transport.
