First in Idaho to Open – Bogus Basin Announces Plans to Open This Saturday and Sunday, Despite less than favorable Winter Weather

Boise, Idaho – After a successful 17 hours of snowmaking early this week, and light snowfall on Wednesday morning, Bogus Basin announced their plans to be the first Recreation Area in Idaho to open for the 2025/26 Winter Season. Mountain Officials plan to open the Easy Rider Conveyor with access to a terrain park on Saturday and Sunday.

The area plans to operate the Easy Rider Conveyor Lift, located on the lower Coach’s Corner run. The conveyor will provide access to a terrain park with approximately 9 features. Bogus Basin’s leadership team kindly reminds all season pass holders that they must pick up a new season pass Access Card this season, due to the integration of a new Point-of-Sale System in February.

“This summer’s pilot program with Snow Secure was a huge help in opening the Easy Rider carpet this November. We look forward to our use of this technology in the future, especially in seasons like this one, when winter weather arrives later than we’d hoped for.”

Nate Shake, Director of Operations

On Wednesday, the Mountain Operations team spent several hours spreading the preserved snow from the Snow Secure pilot program this summer across the lower portion of the Coach’s Corner run. The team was pleased with the coverage, especially following Monday night’s snowmaking efforts and recent natural snowfall.
