Opening Day – Lowtide 2023

Bogus Basin Announces Lowtide 2023, a specialty public terrain park by Snowboy Productions, to kick off the winter 2023/24 season!

Snow Making It Happen

The season is rapidly approaching, and the stoke is real! Our snowmaking team is hard at work taking advantage of every cold snap to stack those whales. So far we have converted 1,200,000 gallons of water into snow on The Explore Terrain Park, Coach, and Bogus Creek, over the 4 or 5 snowmaking shifts to bring you opening day of the 2023/24 winter season.

Lowtide At The Explore Terrain Park

In true bogus fashion, we are bucking the status quo by making snow where Mother Nature is a little late on her scheduled delivery. After several snowmaking shifts, we are ecstatic to announce the opening of The Explorer Terrain Park on November 18th, 2023. To make this opening weekend extra special for Treasure Valley residents, Bogus Basin Terrain Park and Snowboy Productions have collaborated for Lowtide 2023 – the 2nd annual specialty preseason park build open to the public.

Lowtide’s History

Lowtide originated as a Snowboy Productions event series, where Krush Kulesza and his team of builders traveled to US resorts to install creative terrain parks during the preseason months. Aptly named Lowtide, the inaugural Lowtide event in November of 2021 was held at Trollhaugen in Dresser, Wisconsin, and it really lived up to its name, as they had to literally shuttle Zamboni shavings from a local ice rink to pull off the event. After seeing our terrain park department’s continuous commitment to opening an early-season park for the Treasure Valley, Krush of Snowboy Productions contacted us to host the fall 2022 event.

Lowtide 2023

Snowboy Productions is returning to the shores of Bogus Basin for the second year. While it may be a bit more Lowtide than last year’s event, we know the vibes are going to be all-time! With this being the 3rd Lowtide event ever and the 2nd one at Bogus Basin, it is clear the Lowtide has found its home here in the Treasure Valley.

This season, park snowboarders and skiers can take to The Explorer Terrain Park at zero cost on Saturday, November 18th, as we celebrate the start of the 2023/24 winter season. At Bogus Basin, we are committed to building a sense of community around a shared passion, uplifting our guests, and enriching their lives. Lowtide represents doing the most with the card you are dealt, and regardless of how much snow we may or may not have, it is getting together to share an experience that counts!
