December 17, 2014 (BOISE, ID)– Local skiing/snowboarding enthusiasts have reason to celebrate. Bogus is ready to open limited terrain to the first boarders and skiers of the 72nd season. Opening day is Friday, December 19th 2014. Hours of operation on Friday are from 10:00am-4:30pm. Holiday hours will be in effect starting Saturday, and the mountain will be open from 9:00am-4:30pm daily through January 4th, 2015.

Snow accumulation will allow for the opening of Deer Point (#1), Showcase (#4), Coach (#7), the Easy Rider magic carpet, and a small terrain park in Stewart’s Bowl. Limited trails will be open from the Nordic Center. Alpine day tickets will be discounted to $35 and then adjusted as more lifts are available based on snow conditions. All-day Nordic tickets will be sold at the half-day rate of $11 until all trails are opened. Nordic guests who arrive after 1:00pm will pay $8. Last year, the mountain opened on December 8th and had more than 243,000 visitors for the season.

Services available include lessons with the Ski & Snowboard School, equipment rentals, and full food service at Simplot Lodge. Black Diamond Sports retail shop will be open for last minute holiday gift ideas. Pioneer Lodge will be open for locker access only. The tubing hill is currently not open.

The popular Winter Passport Program for beginning skiers and boarders is available for $249. The program includes four lessons, lift tickets, and equipment rental. Upon completion of the lessons, the participant receives a complimentary season pass. For more information, call 332-5340.
