Bogus Basin Hires New Marketing Director

October 7, 2015 (BOISE, ID)– Bogus Basin has hired John Hart to work as the new full-time marketing director for the non-profit mountain recreation area. John began working for Bogus on Labor Day and has hit the ground running with social media, evens, and promoting the upcoming winter season. His goals are to create better brand awareness throughout the Treasure Valley, to assist Bogus Basin with the transition to becoming a year-round destination, and to develop a structured marketing plan with research, innovation, and ties to the rich history of the mountain.

John is new to Boise, moving to the area to take this new position. He comes to Boise from Idaho Falls where he worked as a marketing consultant in his own private firm and also as a Regional Director for the Small Business Development Center at Idaho State University.

John has experience working on marketing campaigns and strategies with large brands such as Costco and Grantham University as well as hundreds of mid and small businesses, municipalities, and economic development groups.

John also brings his creative and artistic background to Boise and to Bogus Basin. He has oil paintings and drawings in private collections as well as a museum in Connecticut. John began his career showing his art in galleries in New York City and working with John Cullen Murphy to illustrate the international comic strip, Prince Valiant. He has also worked as a medical illustrator at the University of Michigan Medical Center and taught advertising, design, and illustration as a professor at Rowan University.

Bogus Basin is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging the community to provide accessible, affordable, and fun year-round mountain recreation and education. Opened in 1942, Bogus Basin offers 2,600 acres of daytime skiable terrain, and 165 acres for night skiing; seven lifts and two people-mover carpets; and an 800-foot tubing hill. The Nordic Center offers 37 kilometers of groomed trails. Summer activities include mountain biking, amphitheater events, disc golf, private events, and hiking.
