A Look Back at Summer 2025

Mountain Moments From Summer 2025

It was a memorable summer on the mountain filled with community, adventure, and exciting progress for the future. Guests joined in the fun all season long – from friendly competition in the Community Race Series to free programs like Yoga on the Mountain, Music on the Mountain, and Guided Nature Programs. The mountain opened for summer activities on June 21st, 2025, and closed on Sunday, September 28th, 2025.

In addition to summer operations, work continued on major capital improvement projects, including the exterior remodel of Pioneer Lodge, which is on track to open in time for the 2025/26 winter season. Read all about how we’re connecting the community through recreation today, while investing in the mountain’s future.

Community Events

The community came together on the mountain to attend fun events throughout the summer — starting with the Boise Mountain Bike Festival and wrapping up with our second annual National Public Lands Day celebration at the end of September.

Boise Mountain Bike Festival

The Boise Mountain Bike Festival kicked off the summer mountain bike season on Saturday, June 28th, 2025, with festivities, vendor booths, expert panels, and of course, lots of laps in The Basin Gravity Park. That early summer weekend, 421 True Bogus Season Pass holders and 205 Basin Gravity Park Season Pass holders came out to enjoy the mountain.

Nature Art Workshop Series

We teamed up with Catalyst Arts Collaborative to host three Nature Art Workshops on the mountain, featuring Plein Air Painting and Nature Art Drawing. Plein Air Painting is the practice of creating art outdoors – capturing natural light, color, and scenery in real time for a truly immersive artistic experience.

Stay tuned for future Nature Art Workshop Series in the Summer 2026 season!

Yoga on the Mountain

Back for another summer, our partners at Yoga for Life held yoga classes on the Base Area Lawn Saturdays and Sundays at 10 am, and Thursday evenings at 6:30 pm. Plus, special free sound-bathing yoga classes on the first Sunday of the month! In total, your community mountain provided the opportunity to enjoy nature from your yoga mat seven Thursdays, and twenty-four weekend sessions, 100% free to the community!

Youth-Nature Drop Off Programs

While you found your zen on the base area lawn, Bogus Basin’s Youth Nature Guides took your kiddos on fun mountain adventures! Activities included nature bingo, nature art, and more. In total, we had seventy-six participants, ages 5 through 10, in the Youth Nature Drop-Off programs.

Music on the Mountain

Music on the Mountain is a free, family-friendly concert series that brings the Treasure Valley community together at Bogus Basin. This summer, we partnered with Duck Club Boise — the local booking agency behind Treefort Music Fest — to showcase an exciting mix of local and touring artists. Performers included BabyJake, Jeff Crosby, Red Caroline, Mondo Pondo, Kendra Morris, and more. Guests filled the lawn, dancing, relaxing, and enjoying live music in the mountains.

Seed Collecting Volunteer Opportunities

The Sustainability & Stewardship team hosted two seed collecting opportunities this summer – on Thursday, August 21st, and on National Public Lands Day, September 27th. In total, our team collected 2,000 grams of native seeds, surpassing last summer’s 1,500 grams of seeds collected. Over the winter, local nurseries, such as the University of Idaho Pitkin Nursery, the Shoshone-Paiute Nursery, and the all-volunteer Treasure Valley Native Plant Network, tend to the seeds, raising them into seedlings that our team will plant next summer.

Don’t miss our volunteer seedling planting happening Thursday, October 9th using seeds collected last summer!

National Public Lands Day

We celebrated National Public Lands Day for the second year in a row on Saturday, September 27th, 2025. Festivities included raffles, over 23 interactive booths with local organizations, and an expert 101 panel with representatives from the Idaho Conservation LeagueConservation Voters for IdahoIdaho Trails AssociationRefuge Manager with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.

The Basin Gravity Park

Open for it’s 4th year, the Treasure Valley’s closest lift-served bike park served as a retreat from the valley heat, and playground for mountain bikers of all ages and abilities – from clinics to community races, Bogus Basin is the place to ride in the summer.

Mountain Bike Clinics

The Bogus Basin Bike School hosted multi-week lesson programs and single-day clinics for riders of all kinds. Half-Day Mountain Bike Clinics included a Fundamentals of Mountain Bike Riding course for new riders, a Descending and Cornering Clinic for intermediate riders looking to polish their technique for riding blue downhill and flow trails, and Pumping and Jumping Clinic for intermediate to advanced riders ready to improve their riding on berms and jumps. The Mountain Bike School hosted a 4-week Ladies MTB Progression Series on Thursday evenings.

Community Race Series

We had a great time on the race courses with y’all! Wednesday night cross-country races drew 149 riders, while Thursday night downhill races brought out 420 racers for some fast-paced fun in The Basin Gravity Park!

“It was an awesome season of racing. We had success with thte newly added “hole shot” timing system that gave away weekly prizes for riders winning the hole shot in downhill and XC racing.”

A Big Win For Lift Maintenance

In August, 2nd year Lift Mechanic Maddy Baldwin was voted Ski Area Management (SAM) Magazine’s 2025 Rise Up Video Challenge winner. Maddy was awarded a $3,500 educational grant, as well as a brand-new jacket and swag box from Leitner-Poma of America. We are incredibly proud of Maddy and the Lift maintenance team, and continue to celebrate this well-deserved recognition.

Maddy plans to invest her grant funds in electrical classes, expanding her skills and furthering her education in the industry.

Capital Improvement Projects

As your local, non-profit mountain, we reinvest right back into the mountain, from day-to-day operations, to educational programs, infrastructure improvements, terrain expansion, and more! This year was no different…

Pioneer Lodge – Exterior Remodel

All summer, your mountain teams have been working with VERTICAL Construction and Erstad Architects on an exterior remodel of the Pioneer Lodge. The overdue remodel includes an elevator installation, new windows, a heated patio, and more!

Stay tuned for more Pioneer Lodge remodel updates as we get closer to the winter season.
