November 30, 2018 (BOISE, ID)– Anticipation is building among local skiers and snowboarders for Bogus Basin to launch full operations for the 2018-19 winter season. And with eight inches of new snow in the last 24 hours, the downtown sales office at the nonprofit recreation area has been bustling with people picking up their season passes.

“We are really excited about this early season snow,” said General Manager, Brad Wilson. “With a combination of natural snow and snowmaking, we are optimistic that the mountain will open for the community next Saturday, December 8th.” While the opening date is dependent upon conditions, the forecast is favorable for more snow to fall over the weekend.

Nordic Operations at Bogus Basin began last weekend. The Frontier Point Nordic Center is open seven days a week, including lessons, rentals, and retail. Hours at the Nordic Center are 9:00am-5:00pm weekends, and 10:00am-5:00pm Monday through Friday.

Today the area opened a free Hike Park near the Simplot Base Area for experienced skiers and riders. The Park includes a variety of elements that guests access after a short hike. The Bogus Basin Terrain Park crew will add new features over the weekend. Hike Park hours are 10:00am to 4:00pm Saturday and Sunday.
