National Public Lands Day Party

Come on up to celebrate our nation’s public lands as we host our inaugural National Public Lands Day Party!

Guided Nature Program | National Public Lands Day

From our fabulous flowers to our magnificent mammals and everything in between, Bogus Basin is home to an immense amount of biodiversity. Each organism plays a unique role in our ecosystem, and this is your opportunity to learn about them! Participants will take an in-depth look at the various plants and animals that call the mountain home and their interconnected relationships. This program is a part of our National Public Lands Day Party, so be sure to stick around to check out the booths and activities from over 20 conservation organizations and land management agencies.

Guided Nature Program | Fall Colors, Berries, & More

Explore the vibrant world of fall foliage at Bogus with Botanist Edna Rey-Vizgirdas! On this approximately 2-mile walk, we’ll find a mosaic of colors as well as nature’s bounty of berries, seeds, and rose hips!  As the days grow shorter and cooler, animals take advantage of this wild harvest to fatten up for winter.

Guided Nature Program | Plants and Wilderness Survival

Many years ago, all people were naturalists by necessity. Their survival depended on an intimate and comprehensive knowledge of the plants and animals around them. Edibility, abundance, medicinal uses, and seasonal availability were critical pieces of information. Participants of the Guided Nature Program will have the opportunity to learn about wild edible plants in the Bogus Basin area and many topics about what it takes to survive in the wilderness.
