String Trio & Brass Quartet from Boise Phil to Perform Free Concert At Bogus Basin

Blue Oval With Bogus Basin In The Center

September 8, 2021 (BOISE, ID)– A string trio and brass quartet from Boise Phil will perform at Bogus Basin this Saturday, September 11 from 2:00-3:00pm. The free concert, titled Natural Wonders, will celebrate the power of music and nature together.

The event marks a new collaboration between two local nonprofit organizations seeking to diversify and engage their audiences in fresh, creative ways. In recent years, expanded summer operations at Bogus Basin have helped the area attract a broader mix of individuals and families whose outdoor interests range from a relaxing scenic chairlift ride to the thrill of downhill mountain biking. For Boise Phil, Natural Wonders represents the launch of a new Community Concert series. It is the first time they’ve performed live in more than a year.

“The Boise Phil’s first performance of the 21-22 concert season will be a free community concert in collaboration with Bogus Basin, with a focus on highlighting the natural wonders of our region. With music featuring local Idaho composers on the Treasure Valley’s own local mountain, we hope you and your family will enjoy an afternoon soaking in the sounds and sights of our region.”

-Laura Reynolds, Executive Director, Boise Phil

Bogus Basin’s Environmental Educators will offer a free Nature Pop-Up Youth Art Booth on Simplot Lawn from 1:30pm to 3:00pm. Following the performance, Bogus Basin’s Environmental Education & Stewardship Coordinator, Dirk Anderson, will lead a Nature Hike (starts at 3:15pm, no reservation required), providing information about the flora and fauna that calls Bogus Basin home. The 2.5 mile-hike (approximately 2 hrs) will begin at the top of the Deer Point chair and make its way back to the base area via the Deer Point trail (a scenic chairlift ticket is required to attend).

Late summer operating hours at Bogus Basin are 11:00am to 5:00pm, Saturdays and Sundays, through October 3. For more information, visit bogusbasin.org.
