Welcoming the Community Back to the Newly Remodeled Pioneer Lodge

At Bogus Basin, our mountain team is guided by our non-profit mission, focused on projects that benefit the Treasure Valley community. Over the past decade, we’ve reinvested more than $65 million back into the mountain – expanding snowmaking infrastructure, adding new chairlifts, ongoing brush cutting and other mountain enhancements. These projects ensure long-term sustainability and access for future generations. This year, that commitment continues with the exterior remodel of the Pioneer Lodge, set to open this week. Every project, large and small, is made possible through the continued support and trust of our community.
Lodge Improvements
Although skiing and riding continued into May, Pioneer Lodge closed on April 14th, 2025, allowing our crews to begin reimagining the space and create a more welcoming experience for all guests.
The updates thoughtfully preserve the lodge’s iconic 1970s character while incorporating much-needed 21st-century features.
Elevator Access
A new elevator now provides access to all three floors of the lodge, improving accessibility and creating a more welcoming experience for all guests.
Heated Pavers and Walkways
New heated pavers and walkways around the lodge make it safer and easier to enter and exit the area during the winter season.

Upgraded Locker Room and Brown Bag Area
The locker room now features brand-new lockers and a kitchenette equipped with microwaves, hot water, and a sink. This space provides a more functional and comfortable area for storing gear and enjoying meals.
Fire Safety
Fire protection is critical at ski areas across the nation, and Bogus Basin is taking proactive steps to protect its infrastructure. The lodge’s new exterior incorporates fire-retardant materials, including stucco and metal.
Interior alarm and sprinkler systems have been upgraded, and the area is now equipped with a large-scale exterior sprinkler system connected to the mountain’s snowmaking infrastructure.
More Window space and Open Stairwell
When you have the views, you’ve got to have the windows! We installed larger windows on the first and third floors of the lodge to create a brighter, more inviting space with expanded views of both the mountain and the city below.
