Operations Updates | December 13th & 14th

Open for the community Amidst Warm Temperatures

Despite the natural snow pack being the lowest on record for this time of year, your mountain team is doing everything to kick off the 2025/26 winter season for the community. A 6,664,426 gallon snowmaking push in late November and early December, and our pilot with Snow Secure, a snow storage technology, allowed us to be the first ski area to open in Idaho on Thanksgiving Weekend. The following weekend, we opened the Coach Chairlift, three conveyor lifts, and two terrain parks with 15 features.

Although a substantial snowmaking effort early last week enabled us to open Coach Chairlift, Coach’s Corner, and Explorer Terrain Park, rising temperatures later in the week halted snowmaking. Warm temperatures and precipitation have made it challenging to maintain our machine-made snowpack, and we’re committed to opening what we can on weekends while we await more favorable weather.

Thanks to the community’s support and investments in snowmaking and Snow Secure, we were happy to make a Thanksgiving weekend opening happen. We appreciate you for helping us make winter possible, even when Mother Nature’s version is delayed.
