After one of the warmest Novembers on record, your Bogus Basin team made skiing and snowboarding possible for the community on Thanksgiving weekend, uplifting over 1,200 guests on Saturday, November 29th and Sunday, November 30th. We absolutely loved seeing y’all back on the snow for your first turns of the season – whether you ran park laps all weekend, or worked on getting your snow legs back in the carving lane, this past weekend wouldn’t have been the same without you.

Let’s do it again this weekend – with the Coach Chairlift, and 3 conveyors, open from 9 am to 4:30 pm!

Made Possible By Snow Secure and The Snow Sorcerers

Being the first to open in Idaho is no small feat, and wouldn’t have happened without our industry leading summer storage pilot program with Snow Secure and our snowmaking and grooming team, affectionately known as the ‘Snow Sorcerers’.

Snow Secure

Over the summer, the Mountain Operations team experimented with a new snow storage technology from Finland, called Snow Secure. Large insulation panels stored about 13,500 cubic meters of snow from April to October.

Without Snow Secure, this Thanksgiving Weekend opening wouldn’t have been possible. We’re excited about this new technology, and look forward to working with it in the future.

Snowmaking

The Snow Sorcerers work around the clock to make enough snow to open the mountain in the pre-season. This November was particularly challenging to make snow, given unseasonably high temperatures. But the team was watching the temps closely, and turned on the machines the minute they could.

18 snowmaking machines ran for 17 hours through the night on Monday, converting 875,000 gallons of water into snow off of the Coach chairlift.

The Snow Secure pile, along with a push from the Snow Sorcerers provided enough coverage to open the lower Coach’s Corner run with 9 terrain park features.

Saturday, November 29th

First in Idaho! We’re stoked to be the first mountain recreation in Idaho to uplift guests to the top of a terrain park with 9 features, and a carving lane. The community dusted off the summer cobwebs from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday, spinning laps on the Easy Rider Conveyor on the lower portion of the Coach’s Corner run.

525 season pass holders rode on the first day of the 2025/26 season, claiming a day on snow in November!

Music was bumping, fries were frying, and the smiles were big all day long.

Sunday, November 30th

Saturday’s stoke carried over to Sunday – and we got a 2″ snow refresh all over the mountain! Friends and families took to the snow for their last chance to ride in November of 2025.

See you This Weekend!

#YourLocalPlayground is open again this Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 4:30 pm. We’ll be running the Discovery Conveyor, Easy Rider Carpet and Coach Chairlift with service to the Coach’s Corner run. True Bogus, Winter, and Value Season Pass holders can ride all day, Twilight Season Pass holders have access from 3 pm to close.

Lessons on our new Terrain Based Learning are available – inquire at the Lessons Office on the mountain located in the base area.

Day tickets are available to purchase online in advance – a Conveyor Ticket costs $15, a Day ticket, including the Coach Chairlift, costs $25.

More terrain may open up over the weekend if conditions allow – stay tuned!
