An Update on the Pioneer Lodge Remodel

Pioneer Lodge Remodel | Fall Update

It’s no secret that here at Bogus Basin, we like to stay busy and continually improve the mountain experience for you – the Treasure Valley. On April 14th, 2025, we began an extensive remodel of the Pioneer Lodge, which has seen minimal updates since it was built in 1973. Now, in November, the full exterior and partial interior work are coming along nicely, with completion expected in time for the December holiday period. Keep reading for the full update!

Adding Modern Touches to a 1970’s Lodge

After over 50 years of memories made in the original Pioneer Lodge, it was time for us to update the building to meet the demand of the growing Treasure Valley. Some 21st century improvements include new fire suppression sprinklers throughout the lodge, equitable access features, HVAC and more!

To preserve the lodge’s history, we replicated the original lettering on the south side of the Pioneer Lodge.

Improved Access

Accessibility was a top priority in the Pioneer Lodge remodel. The installation of a highly anticipated elevator modernizes the building and provides easier access to the second and third floors.

Outside the lodge, we added heated sidewalk pavers to enhance safety and convenience when entering or exiting during the winter months.

A More Comfortable Lodge Experience

We installed a new heating and air conditioning (HVAC) system to provide improved climate control throughout the lodge year-round. The reconfigured locker room now features new lockers, as well as a kitchenette with microwaves, hot water, and a sink.

More windows provide expansive mountain views and natural light during the day, while offering a spectacular view of the city lights at night.

Key Improvements Coming This Winter:

  • New Elevator Shaft and Elevator
  • Expanded Locker Rooms and Kitchenette
  • Heated Pavers and Sidewalk Along the Exterior
  • HVAC System
  • Expanded Windows
  • Fire Suppression Sprinklers

New Roof Panels Installed

In late August, the team installed roof panels, giving an upgraded shape to the new Pioneer Lodge.

Stay tuned for more updates as this capital improvement project continues!
