Military Lift Ticket

What military branches are eligible for Military discount lift ticket offerings?

This includes anyone currently serving in, or veterans of, the U.S. Army and Army Reserve, Army National Guard, U.S. Navy and Navy Reserves, U.S. Air Force and Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard, Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserve, Coast Guard and Coast Guard Reserve.

Who qualifies for the Military discount lift ticket?

The following military personnel and their families qualify for a Military discount lift ticket:

  • Active Duty (full-time): A person who is currently serving on active duty is in the military full-time (serving on Title 10 orders for 30 days or more).
  • Reserve & Guard Forces: A person in the Reserve or National Guard is not full-time active duty military personnel, although he or she can be deployed at any time should the need arise. Members of the Reserve & Guard are eligible for the Active/Retired/Dependent Military Season Pass if they are currently serving in the Reserves or National Guard (serving on Title 32 orders). (This offer does not apply to members of the IRR – Individual Ready Reserve.)
  • Retired: A military retiree is any former member of the uniformed services who is entitled, under statute, to retired, retirement, or retainer pay. Examples include, but are not necessarily limited to, spending 20 or more years in the military, or permanent retirement by reasons of physical disability.
  • Active/Retired/Reserve/Guard Forces Dependent: Registered Dependents of Active/Retired Military members, including spouse and child dependents. Parents of military members are not included, as well as children who are no longer dependent. Definitions for age/eligibility requirements are defined by the military and Department of Defense. For active/retired dependents, all should have or qualify for DD Form 1173. Definitions for age/eligibility requirements are defined by the military and Department of Defense*.

  • Veteran: A person who served in the active military and who was discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable.
  • Dependent: Veteran Military member’s spouse and any child dependents. Parents of military members are not included, nor are children who are no longer dependent. Definitions for age/eligibility requirements are defined by the military and Department of Defense*.

What are age/eligibility requirements of Child Dependents in the Military?
Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area does not define this. We are relying on military definitions and eligibility as defined by the U.S. Department of Defense*, who defines dependent children as:

  • A child of the sponsor (military member) who is younger than 21 years of age. Children over the age of 10 will need to have a valid DD Form 1173 or 1173-1 card. If 21 or older, the child may remain eligible if he/she is:
    • 21 or 22 years old and enrolled in a full-time course of higher learning
    • 21 or older but incapable of self-support because of a mental or physical incapacity that existed before the 21st birthday
    • 21 or 22 years old and was enrolled full-time in an accredited institution of higher learning, but became incapable of self-support because of a mental or physical condition while a full-time student
  • Children who are 18+ will still be required to purchase an adult dependent pass.

Discounts include all age ranges with the exception of Preschool ticket. Expired IDs will not be considered valid. DD 214 paperwork will not be accepted. Civilians, civilian affiliates, and contractors will not be accepted. Discount cannot be combined with other discounts or offers. One discount per valid ID. Who qualifies for the Military Season Pass for Active/Retired/Dependent Military and their Dependents?

The following military personnel and their families qualify for an Active/Retired/Dependent Military Season Pass ($199 plus tax):
