Alpine Level 3 and DCT, Children’s Specialist 2 and DCT
“Safety, fun and learning” is my teaching motto. Before we start the lesson, I like to get to know my students a little bit to understand their comfort zone and goals. I’ll start the lesson in your comfort zone and build on skills you already have (even if it’s just walking). From there we add new skill and strengthen old ones with patience and practice. I will watch your movements, analyze how they affect your skis, and give you feedback. Before long, you’ll be skiing runs and making turns you didn’t know were possible! And if you’re up for it, we’ll incorporate some adventure into your day!
I love teaching skiing for the challenge of it: physical, intellectual, emotional and interpersonal. I especially enjoy working with children and training other instructors. Outside of the ski and snowboard school, I am a trainer and collaborator with the Professional Ski Instructors of America, as well as a ski boot product tester. When I’m not skiing, I am an environmental educator and own a gardening business. I love to garden, ride a bicycle, hike, read, sew and embroider.
