Announcement | Western Collective Collaborative Beer: Above The Clouds IPA

Bogus Basin is excited to announce our first collaborative beer with one of the Treasure Valley’s favorite local breweries, Western Collective!

While Bogus Basin regularly works with local and regional breweries both on and off the mountain, when Western Collective approached the mountain with this unique opportunity, we knew it was something special.

Like Bogus Basin, Western Collective prides itself on innovation and creating gathering spaces for all community members to enjoy. From captivating beer enthusiasts with world-class beverages to introducing Frosé and Slushies to the Treasure Valley, their locations in Garden City & Downtown Boise have something for every adult in every season.

Branding themselves as more than just a brewery, Western Collective’s concept for an authentic, collaborative beer that spoke to Bogus Basin’s mission was the 30,000-foot view the mountain had been waiting for!

Bogus [Basin] is truly my favorite place in Southern Idaho. The fact that they are not-for-profit recreation area is incredible. The amount of infrastructure they continue to invest [in] to make the hill a better and better place to be has been really really impressive, and we want to be a part of that investment.”

Above The Clouds – IPA is more than just a beer. It is a fresh and unique way to engage Bogus Basin’s brand with the community, providing a lifestyle-integrated donation back to the recreation area. A focus of this collaborative brew is a donation back to Bogus Basin Mountain Recreation Area for every pint sold, draft or can, at all locations Above The Clouds is sold. “Bogus [Basin] is truly my favorite place in Southern Idaho,” said Cary Prewitt, founder and CEO of Western Collective. “The fact that they are not-for-profit recreation area is incredible. The amount of infrastructure they continue to invest [in] to make the hill a better and better place to be has been really really impressive, and we want to be a part of that investment.”

Above The Clouds is an IPA repping a 4.9% ABV, bringing a perfect balance of full crisp flavor and drinkable lightness. This refreshing IPA is the perfect daily anywhere, featuring Nelson Sauvin Hops and Citra Hops, along with a Rye and spice infusion to bring a welcomed soft mouthfeel.

“Personally, my favorite thing about Bogus is how, even on those socked-in inversion days here in the Valley, you can pop up the hill and magically be soaking in sunshine on the slopes within an hour.”

She took the vision of bringing our local mountain right to the community to heart, capturing Bogus Basin’s picturesque skyline seated aptly Above The Clouds. “Personally, my favorite thing about Bogus is how, even on those socked-in inversion days here in the Valley, you can pop up the hill and magically be soaking in sunshine on the slopes within an hour. It’s where I go to get above the clouds and clear my head in the winter, and I feel so lucky to have Bogus in our community,” said Levick.

Western Collective is no stranger to purposeful collaboration with organizations that actively make the Treasure Valley a more enjoyable place to live. A current partnership with World Center for Birds of Prey & the Peregrine Fund contributes funds with every pint sold, and past partnerships with Fort Boise Days, Boise Pride, Garden City Pollinator Organization, 103.5 Kiss FM, Black is Beautiful, IBU, Grameen America all provide givebacks to specific organizations. Western Collective is adamant that great beer can do more than taste fantastic – Great beer can translate to real good in the community
